Venue is a branded editorial program presented by VSCO.
The aim was for each Venue project to serve as an extension of the VSCO curated ethos. Already known for their commitment to design and an elevated presentation of photography, my challenge was to add the moving image and music to their digital editorial experience; first as a consultant for the creation of the program and second as filmmaker (Director and Producer), responsible for the execution of each film.
VENUE captures a live music performance through a cinematic lens and a comprehensive editorial presentation.
The history, location, and feel of the space are highly considered to provide
the artist a one-of-a-kind setting to realize a truly special rendition of their song.
The film is presented alongside an interview feature and a photography portfolio, with each element providing further context on the artist and the unique performance.
Each project is released and supported across VSCO’s online platform, within the app, and via all social channels.
This edition of the Venue series with singer/songwriter Korey Dane was filmed on location at Joshua Tree, CA.
